VCAT Reports and Special Purpose Inspections - SPI Property Inspections

SPI Property Inspections Organises VCAT Reports and Special Purpose Inspections

If you find yourself in dispute with your builder in a situation that can’t be resolved, you may decide to seek recourse through legal means such as the DBDRV (Domestic Building Dispute Resolution Victoria) or through VCAT.

SPI Property Inspections can arrange a VCAT report with our inspector who is a qualified architect. We can also provide expert witness testimony to support your VCAT hearing.

Evidence is presented to VCAT in one of two ways – either through expert evidence in the form of a written report, and/or by providing expert witness testimony.

How can SPI Property Inspections help?

Our qualified inspector can prepare a comprehensive report which states the facts of the matter and includes an expert opinion about the issue.

This report can be submitted to VCAT in support of your case.

We can also have our inspector attend your VCAT hearing as an expert witness to provide fair and unbiased evidence.

What do I do first?

If there is a defect or issue at your property that is causing concern, the first step is to contact us and arrange a special purpose inspection.

We can provide an independent assessment of the situation in the form of a comprehensive report which outlines the issue and makes suggestions for repair or recommendation.

Addressing an issue early may save you the cost of expensive repairs or replacement down the track.

If the situation escalates to a dispute with your builder, we can assist by arranging a VCAT report or expert witness testimony.
