Our Friendly Team

SPI Property Inspections was founded in 2002 and is jointly owned by Colin and Helen Legg. We have a solid track record, having carried out over 30,000 inspections and are experienced in residential and commercial building inspections.

The SPI team are continually growing and comprises building inspectors across Melbourne and regional Victoria, as well as a friendly office team who manage the booking process, marketing and administrative functions. The sales and marketing team work in conjunction with our inspectors, providing our clients with honest and quality service.

Our current team of inspectors are all former or current builders, building inspectors and architects, who have all held positions of authority within the building industry prior to joining SPI. They are skilled at identifying issues and making decisions.

We also have several alliance partners including a pest inspector, plumbers, electricians and structural engineers to whom we outsource specific work, so that we can provide our clients with a one-stop-shop service.

SPI Property Inspections works with a number of rail and infrastructure project alliances across Greater Melbourne. We are a preferred supplier of the Level Crossing Removal Project and have undertaken dilapidation reports and street surveys for many of the level crossing works already completed throughout Melbourne. We have many current ongoing projects in this sector.

SPI Property Inspections is a member of the Master Builders’ Association Victoria and the Housing Industry Association (HIA), Australia’s largest and most respected housing industry organisation.

Our Mission Statement

SPI Property Inspections’ mission is to act as an independent guide throughout the inspection process to provide our clients with the confidence to move forward on their purchase or investment. Ultimately, our team strives to deliver a range of residential and commercial services based on the growing needs of our clients.
We are responsive to their requirements and endeavour to look
for new opportunities and alliances in the market.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Contacted George to do a building inspection as he came highly recommended by a friend. He was able to get out there the next day and provided the report promptly without any hassles at all. Would not hesitate to recommend George and SPI inspections if you're after great service and a thorough inspection report.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a great experience with SPI throughout our house construction. Frank was incredibly helpful and took the time to answer all of our questions, making the entire inspection process easy to understand.

I highly recommend SPI for building inspections. While builders do their best, it's always worthwhile to have an independent inspection for added confidence. It gave us real peace of mind knowing that our home was built safely and to a high standard.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We engaged SPI Property Inspections to carry out a final inspection for us. Frank did a very thorough job and picked up a number of things that would have otherwise not been found and we would have been left to fix ourselves after the sale was completed.
Very happy we went with this company and had the inspection undertaken. Definitely worth the minor cost compared to what it would have cost us to have the repairs done!
