SPI Property Inspections has been operating since 2002 and have completed more than 30,000 inspections during that time.
Why do so many clients choose us? Because we pride ourselves on integrity, even when it means delivering facts to a client they may not want to hear.
Business integrity means doing the right thing, the right way, for the right reasons.
From the first quote through to the final report, we approach every inspection with honesty, fairness, and professionalism so our clients can make confident, informed decisions.
Building dispute inspections can be one of the toughest (on our clients, but also our team) and we appreciate that clients can be frustrated and upset by the time they get to the VCAT stage, but as a company, we still need to remain independent and honest.
Our inspectors are trained to write what they can prove, not what someone wants to hear.
A professional and responsible building inspector won’t lie even if it seems like it would help the case, because our job isn’t to take sides. We’re legally and professionally obligated to report what’s true and factual.
It’s not that we are not on your side, but simply the issues / defects may not technically breach the Australian Codes and/or Standards & Tolerances. It may be poor workmanship, but not deemed unsafe or a defect.
It’s about being honest, fair, and responsible in every decision. Let us explain why…
Our inspector can be called to court as an expert witness and swear under oath that the findings are theirs, based on their own visual inspection and experienced opinions and are true. If they cannot back up their findings and costings, they’re breaking their legal promise under the oath to tell the truth.
If an inspector lies or twist the facts regarding defects, and it’s proven, they can be sued personally, and the company can be charged with fraud or misconduct.
If we start bending the truth for one party, our credibility disappears. Our well-regarded reputation comes into question.
At SPI Property Inspections we must stay independent. A building inspector’s role is neutral, basing the findings on compliance with codes, safety standards, and approved plans only. We will not advocate for owners or builders if the facts tell us otherwise. That may be brutal to hear, but integrity is why we are one of the leading companies in the industry.
Our findings must be evidence-based driven.
We’ve been proudly serving clients for over 24 years, and we intend to keep thriving with our professional integrity intact. Sometimes our factual findings are disappointing or unexpected to our clients, and we understand that can be frustrating. We respect the emotions, the questions, and even the tough feedback that can follow.
At SPI Property Inspections, credibility and integrity sit at the heart of everything we do. By staying independent, factual, and ethical, we protect what matters most, your confidence, our credibility, and the integrity of every inspection.
