If you are selling your house within 6.5 years of completing the work as an Owner-Builder, you must by law, provide the purchaser with a Defects Report. Where the domestic work is over $12,000, you also have to provide Owner-Builder Warranty Insurance. You can face penalties of up to $10,000 if you fail to do so.
